As a result of Testfakta publishing an article, sales of ecological bananas increased from 25% to 67% of total sales
Testfakta's chemical analysis revealed that "regular" bananas contained residues of pesticides even under the peel, while ecological bananas were free of residues.
The test had such a high news value, that virtually all news outlets in Sweden, from dailies to the state tv, picked up the results. Consumer demand on ecological, respectively poison-free produce was immediate, leading to some of the grocery chains to even discontinue sales of "regular" bananas.
