Benchmarking - Show How Your Product Stacks Up

A Benchmarking Test is a full-scale comparative study that shows how your product performs against the leading competitors in the market. The goal is to demonstrate that your product is either the best overall or offers an exceptional combination of quality and price. This type of test provides strong, research-based proof that can support marketing, brand positioning, and sales efforts.

Unlike a Verification Test, Benchmarking is exclusive—only one product per category can use the Testfakta Best in Test label based on the results. The test includes a wide range of performance parameters, carefully selected to reflect what matters most to consumers and relevant standards. It is designed to highlight both the strengths and weaknesses in each product and to determine which product performs best overall.

The process includes technical and market analysis, selection of test parameters, and testing carried out by leading independent laboratories in Europe. Testfakta handles the entire process, from purchasing products from the market to analyzing results and presenting them in a clear, accessible report. If your product qualifies, you receive the Testfakta Best in Test Label — proof of superior quality. Alternately, you can choose to use the results for internal research and development purposes.

Benchmarking is suitable for strong products aiming to take a leading position in their category. It delivers powerful evidence that can be used across markets to build trust, differentiate the product, and drive growth.

Benchmarking turns quality into a competitive advantage. Get in touch here to learn more.

Request

Testfakta needs to know the desired purpose of a test, the product and the markets. Based on earlier experience or after checking with one or several laboratories, we will be able to give you a rough cost estimate for the production of the test.

Preliminary study

Based on a written frame agreement, Testfakta conducts a preliminary study, including relevant test parameters, suitable laboratory partners, competitive situation, etc.

The laboratory test

On behalf of the client, Testfakta usually purchases the required number of samples and coordinates transportation to the laboratory. The test is conducted, documented and summarized. The final results will be interpreted in close collaboration with the laboratory and summarized in a comprehensive manner, including article and graphics. You, the client, will decide, if the results should be published, or not.

Communication

We enter a communication and licensing agreement. Based on this, Testfakta will provide you with the design of the label and photo documentation, which can be used in all relevant communication channels. For consumer information and transparency, we publish an article with the results of Testfakta's web page for reference.

Year 2

The license period for using the quality label is 12 months. If there are no significant changes in the formulation or design of your product and its competitors and none of the competitors has voiced interest in conducting a benchmark test of the category, you may be offered to prolong the license for another 12-months-period
